Elion understand the diamond market and with our wealth of experience we cater for demand with a diverse selection of stock. This includes fine white to commercial white in various clarities and cuts. Working with Argyle, we have access to some of the best diamonds the world has to offer. In pink diamonds we stock from 200 per carat through to rarer and larger pinks ( 1 carat ) purchased at tender.
PINKS
For many, a shroud of mystery surrounds the prized pink diamond. The cause of this colour is said to be nitrogen atoms in the crystal structure. These atoms have been distorted by high pressure. These crystals absorb green and blue light and this is what gives the pink diamonds their colour.
Unlike white diamonds whose value is greatly affected by their clarity, the value of pink diamonds is largely determined by their colour; the more intense the colour the rarer the stone, consequently the more valuable. Elion has the knowledge to accurately appraise and source pink diamonds in various sizes and saturation levels of pink. In the Argyle pink stones, Elion stocks from 200pc stones through to stones brought at tender. These stones are graded using Argyle’s own system. Determining the intensity of a pink diamond’s colour grade is best left to the trained experts. The value of a pink diamond increases significantly as the intensity of colour increases. A misjudgement in colour can affect the final price by thousands of dollars.
With the Argyle mine expected to cease production by 2018, the rare pink diamond can only become rarer.

WHITES
White diamonds are mined across the world. Elion stocks fine cut white diamonds from 300 per carat to over a carat, including both brilliant cuts and fancy cuts. The majority of our diamonds are Russian cut.
